SEPTEMBER 2010: Easen International’s Managing Director, Dr. Ping Zhuang, together with the on-site Project Assistant, Ms. Solongo Tsetsegmaa, took part in the closing ceremony for the Second Ulaanbaatar Services Improvement Project (USIP2) held by the Project Management Unit (PMU) and the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority of Ulaanbaatar (USUG).
During the Project Implementation Period, EASEN achieved the objective of providing improved water supply to the urban poor in a sustainable manner. The consultancy assignment included three (3) main categories to assist the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar (MUB).
Some of the most relevant aspects covered were:
- Supporting and strengthening institutional development of USUG, in particular in the areas of information technology, internal financial controls, metering and sanitation policy, reducing operating costs and strengthening of USUG and Project Implementation Unit (PIU) capacity
- Assist the PMU with overall project management, including procurement assistance, financial management, supervision of constructions, quality control, construction management, commissioning of works and strengthening of Project Management Unit (PMU) capacit
- Conceive, design, install, and maintain an appropriate Monitoring and Evaluation System for the project
