ADB PPTA 7177-PRC: Wuhan Urban Environment Improvement Project

 

 

EASEN was commissioned by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for PPTA No. 7177-PRC: Wuhan Urban Environment Improvement Project. This project aims to improve the urban environment and water quality of lakes and rivers in Wuhan City, as well as achieved long-term sustainable development through investments in sludge treatment.

 

The project included the following components:

 

  • Jiangnan sludge treatment and disposal component
  • Wuhan New Zone Lake/Channels rehabilitation and pumping station
  • Yangchun Lake Secondary Urban Center Lake/Channel rehabilitation
  • Capacity Development to improve sludge treatment practices
  • Improvement of the environment and infrastructure of two lakeside urban areas

 

 

EASEN managed technical, environmental, social, financial, economic, and institutional elements of the project to ensure compliance with the policies and guidelines set by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

 

 

EASEN provided the following services:

 

  • Review and analyze the medium- and long-term sector plans for water supply, wastewater management, storm water management, solid waste management, sludge treatment, and the rehabilitation of lakes and river systems within Wuhan City
  • Prepare notes on policy issues and related activities
  • Review and provide commentary on domestic feasibility studies, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Project Reports (PRs) and other related reports
  • Develop a project design and monitoring framework
  • Prepare reports such as inception report, interim report, draft final report and final report
  • Financial due diligence
  • Financial evaluation
  • Financial projections

 

 

This project started in May 2009 and was completed in November 2009.
